Sareb aims at the sky: buys one of the highest skyscrapers of Benidorm and Spain

BENIDORM. The Asset Management Company from Banking Restructuring, Sareb, also known as “bad bank”, has become one of the highest skyscrapers in Benidorm (the fifth), and all over Spain. Sareb currently has 136 homes of different typology and size in the Kronos building: from the 1st to the 38th floor. It is a 41-tower, which was conceived as a luxury residential, where the structure does not It occupies neither 20% of the plot. The rest, common areas and recreation: two swimming pools, adults and children, gym, soccer field, paddle tennis and tennis, as well as large green areas.

The building was constructed by the Valencian promoter Grupo García Ojeda, who in the first years of the crisis began to weather as it could different competitions of creditors. Sareb rescued nine savings banks, including real estate and loans to developers. The second was the operation with which it was awarded the “bad bank”, as confirmed by Alicante Plaza, whose debt belonged to one of the companies of Grupo García Ojeda. Kronos has more than one Valencian stamp, since the design was run by MAPRC architecture, also of this city.

The residential, which began to be built in 2005 and delivered the keys three years later, had almost a decade later near the total of unsold homes. Prices are not the cheapest, according to real estate sources consulted. The apartments are 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms, and the lowest price is € 97,176, according to the Ferrer Albors Real State Group and Activium. The latter has also posted a sign on the side of the building to announce even the price of a bedroom floor. Even so, the figures would be far from what was achieved prior to the economic crisis, even though these homes are new and have never been inhabited.

The magnet of Sareb by the tall buildings of Benidorm is not unique with Kronos. As you will recall, he is also behind In Tempo, who, unless the judges decide otherwise, will buy the skyscraper that is yet to be finished, presumably to sell it later.
